Ivolene "Iva" Arrington, 72, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 23, 2008.
She was of the Baptist faith. After her retirement from King's Department Store, she owned and operated Iva's Ceramics and also sold Avon.
Preceding her in death were her parents, W. B. and Lucille McMurray; and a great-grandson, Scott Hensley.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Jim Arrington; a daughter, Vickie Darlene Hartsell and husband Danny; a son, Jimmy Arrington and mate Patsy Lawson; five grandchildren, Andrew, Brittney, and Brandon Arrington, and Bradley and Justin Hartsell; one sister, Eva Pendergrass; two brothers, Clarence McMurray, Don McMurray and wife Nancy; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Johnny Gibson and Rev. Leland H. Salyer officiating. Music will be provided by Way of Life Singers.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Holston View Cemetery. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
