Iva Nell Clark, 88, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 27th, 2011, at Holston Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Iva Nell was born in Scott County, VA, and lived most of her life in Kingsport. She was a cashier in the cafeteria department of Tennessee Eastman Company, where she made many lifelong friends, and retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church. Later in life, prior to her declining health, she attended Riners Tabernacle Church, where she was a very active member. She completed many correspondence courses in Bible, which she loved to share with others. She was always ready to give a smile and a hug.
Iva Nell was preceded in death by her parents, M.C. and Mary Clark, and sisters, Mae Clark Benton and Marie "Dolly" Olterman.
She is survived by her brothers, Roy Earl Clark, O.G. Clark, and James "Bud" Clark, all of Kingsport. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews who were a big part of her life, and each of whom she gave her own special nickname. They loved her and will miss her.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:00, conducted by Wayne Gilliam and Ray Allen. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Shannon Morelock, Craig Catron, Joe Mitchell, Rodney Fields, Jared Adams, Jeremiah Adams, Derek Olterman, Andrew Foerster, and Brian Ritz. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Allen and Joe Richardson.
