Iva N. Dykes

Iva N. Dykes, 73, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. Iva was a member of Solomon’s Temple Missionary Baptist Church. She had retired from Wal-Mart.  Iva loved the Lady Vols, gardening, cooking and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Dykes; parents, Willie and Edith Byington; 2 brothers, Roy and Bill Byington; and 2 sisters, Lyda Littleton and Dessie Bowser.

Iva is survived by her sister, Betty Mullenix and husband, Jerry; 2 special nieces, Kim Elliott and husband, Travis, and Tory Lorimer and husband, Tim; special great-nephew, Caleb Elliott; 2 special great-nieces, Baylee and Rylee Waye; brother-in-law, Herbert Littleton; and 2 aunts, Nora Morelock and Irene Ramey.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Dr. Bobby Bernard officiating. 

The graveside service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Light Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Elliott, Travis Elliott, Jerry Mullenix, Dennis Housewright, Doug Crawford and Glen Light.  Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Littleton and Sam Crawford.

The family would like to thank Advanced Home Health Care, Leslie, Preston, Pam, Christie and Shamrock.
