Ivo was born in Persia, Tennessee on August 25, 1924 as the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Everhart [nee Ada Hagood]. During her youth she attended a number of schools in Tennessee and North Carolina. Her father, as superintendant of heavy earth-moving equipment constructing TVA dams, moved the family frequently. While her father was working on the construction of Chatugue Dam in North Carolina, Ivo met her future husband, Donald M. Padgett. Before her marriage, Ivo worked on the Manhattan Project for the Federal Government at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She very recently received a letter of commendation and medal for her service during World War II.

Ivo and Don were married July 9, 1944 at the home of her parents in Clinton, Tennessee and this summer they celebrated seventy-one years of marriage.

After her husband's discharge from the Navy in Memphis in 1946, Ivo moved to Kingsport and has resided here for the last sixty-nine years. In the 1950's she served as a leader for Girl Scout Troop 244. She was a charter member of the Beauceant of Kingsport and was a member of the Crusade Class at First Broad Street United Methodist Church for over fifty years.

Ivo is survived by her loving husband Don of Kingsport and her only child Karen Padgett Prewitt and her husband Bill of Charleston, South Carolina. Also surviving is one niece, Sharon Schilly of Bloomington, Indiana and her husband, Mark Freeman and several first cousins, as well as devoted family friends, David and Connie Pfountz of Kingsport.

Ivo was predeceased by her parents and younger sister, Audria Schilly of Pittsburgh, Pa.
