Jack Allgood

Jack Allgood, 83, Kingsport, joined the love of his life Lois in Heaven on Monday, September 23, 2013. He was in the first graduating class at Lynn View High School. Jack had retired from the Mead following many years of service. He also owned and operated the Hitch-n-Post antiques. Jack had coached numerous youth in Lynn Garden Optimist League. He was a member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Allgood; parents, P.A. and Verdie Allgood; and several brothers and sisters.

Jack is survived by three sons, Roger Allgood, Kingsport, Reggie Allgood, Kingsport, and Little Roger Allgood and wife, Leissa, Mount Carmel; three daughters, Jackie Wells and husband, Dwight, Kingsport, Glenda Hayes and husband, Mike, Oxford, NC, and Shirley Kennedy and husband, Marty, High Point, NC; five granddaughters, Robin, Lori, Shelley, Dusty, and Darla; thirteen great-grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Paige, Hannah, Alexa, Tyler, Bret, Savannah, Zack, Alyssa, Josie, Abbi, and Aaron; several special nieces, nephews, friends at the pickin' parlor, and a host of many other friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Fields, Rev. Olen Cassell, and Pastor Caleb Frazier officiating.

The graveside service will be on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
