Jack Bragg, 79, Lone Star Road, went to be with the Lord Friday, November 16, 2007, at his home in the presence of his family.
He was born in Sullivan County, graduated from Sullivan High School, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Jack retired in 1989 as a mechanic from Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Johnson City with 35 years of service.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Guy and Flossie ?Tobe? Bragg.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Hazel ?Toots? Crawford Bragg; his children, Gary Bragg, Gail Strickler and husband David, Susie Dolen and husband Dan, Chris Bragg and wife Kim, and Connie Light and husband Anthony, all of Kingsport. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, and Melanie Strickler; Adam and Phillip Dolen; Hollee and Haylee Bragg; Emily, Cody, Austin, and Evan Light; a sister, Helen Nelms, Maryville, TN; a brother, Gary ?Buddy? Bragg, Sunset Beach, North Carolina; nieces, Gwen Holms and Kay Overbay; an aunt, Edith Crawford; and several cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch with funeral services to follow at 8:00 p.m. Saturday. Pastor Lewis Meade and Elder Shelton Meade will officiate. Honorary minister will be Rev. Orville Dolen.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Walker?s Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #3/265.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Strickler, Cody Light, Adam Dolen, Philip Dolen, James Bragg, Gene Bragg, Billy Smallwood, and Ronnie Smallwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin and Evan Light.
The family wishes to send a special thanks to Hospice Services especially Jason Bragg and Cathy Katras to Veterans Administration, Mountain Home, Tennessee.
