Jack "Dale" Derrick
Jack "Dale" Derrick, 75, of Kingsport, went peacefully to be with the Lord at his home on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 after a brief illness.
Dale retired from Greif Brothers Manufacturers after 34 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Preceding him in death were his father, Echol Derrick; mother, Reba Jane Ruth Derrick; brothers, John Derrick and David Derrick; and sister, Maggie Lou Derrick.
He is survived by his daughters, Sharon King and fiancé, Jerry Flanigan and Tammy Nichols and husband Larry; grandchildren, Meranda King, Christopher Derrick, Kendra Poe, Levi Nichols, and Calvin Nichols; great-grandchildren, McKenzie King and Zakary Richards; aunt, Bertha Hicks; and special friend, Shirley Jean Larkey.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8 p.m. with pastor Keith Barker officiating.
Gravesides will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wills Cemetery in Church Hill. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with their expenses during this time of need.
