Jack Lee Kindle, 75, Church Hill, passed away Saturday March 31, 2007 following a brief illness.
Mr. Kindle served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Kingsport Press/Quebecor after 39 years of service.
Jack was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church for over 55 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Velma Sams Kindle; parents, James and Mattie Kindle; three brothers, Kenneth, Bascom, and Leonard Kindle; one sister, Lola Kate Casteel; and special friend, Janelle Helton.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Steven Kindle and wife, Pam, Kingsport, and James ?Jim? Edward Kindle and wife, Lisa, Kingsport; eight grandchildren, Laura, Tyler, Jenny, Ryan, Drew, Marissa, Zach, and Kelley, all of Kingsport; brother, C. C. Kindle and wife, Ruby, Kingsport; twin sister, Rosa-Nell Hommel and husband, Charles, Kingsport; sisters-in-law, Joyce Vesser, Riverdale, GA, Sandra Ervin and husband, Kenny, Wytheville, VA, Jean Kindle, Kingsport, Wanda Kindle, Jonesborough, and Nancy Kindle, Kingsport; and special friend, Terry Helton.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Steven G. Gott officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Hommel, Randy Hommel, Larry Hommel, Bob Kindle, Mike Kindle, Tim Casteel, Joe Stuffle, and Terry Helton. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Kindle, Ray Kindle, Richard Kindle, Sam Vesser, and Jon Ervin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 550 Independence Avenue, Mt. Carmel, TN 37645 or to the American Diabetes Association, 900 East Hill Avenue, Suite 240, Knoxville, TN 37915.
