Mr. Jack Ray Martin, 79, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord July 26, 2014. Jack graduated from Dobyn's-Bennett High School in 1952 and served in the US Navy from 1952-1960. He attended East Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee. After attendance, he worked for Eastman Chemical Company as a General Supervisor in the Engineering Division. Jack was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodges, American Legion, and Masonic Lodge No. 688. He was a member of the York Rite Bodies of the Kingsport Chapter and Kingsport Council, and is a past commander of the Kingsport Commandery. He was also a member of the Jericho Shrine Temple and a former Squadron commander of the Civil Air Patrol. Jack was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, National Aeronautical Association, Air Force Association, and the Institute for the Certification of Engineering Technicians. He was also an avid UT fan.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Eunice Martin; brother Luther Martin; and nephew Ron Martin.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 59 years, Patricia Martin; daughters, Gwen and husband Wendell Keeling and Sandy Smith; grandchildren, Kari Keeling and husband Charles Smith, Brook and husband Kenny Ferrell; and great grandchildren, Adyson and triplets, Wendell, Haley, and Nathan Ferrell; sister-in-law, Mildred Phipps Martin; nephew, Gary and wife Terry; and niece, Neana Martin.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, July 27, 2014, 2-4:00 pm, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be held, Monday, July 28, 2014, 11 am, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
