Jackie Crawford, 66, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2011 at Wellmont Hospice Home in Bristol. Born in Hawkins County, he had lived in this area most of his life. Jackie was self employed as a drywall contractor and attended Cornerstone Fellowship. He loved the mountains, deer and turkey hunting and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Bertha Crawford, brothers, Joe, Kenny, Verlin and Cleo Crawford, infant brother, Delmer and infant sister, Mae.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Louise Crawford; three "special girlfriends", Deb, Kim and Peg; three brothers, Glen Crawford and Elmer Crawford, both of Kingsport and Junior Crawford and wife, Angie of Maryland; special brother-in-law and sister in law, Eddie Hicks and wife, Barbara; B.D. Castle and wife, Glenda Sis; two special nieces and one special nephew, Tammy Blanton and husband Bart, April Steffey and husband Scott and David Hicks and wife Leann; five real special great nieces and nephews, Matthew, Caleb, Mackenzie "Peanut", Hunter and Kaylee; several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; special buddies, Dottie and Bailey.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow with Pastor Harold Morelock officiating with Rev. Orville Dolen as honorary minister. Music will be provided by the Heavenly Reflections.
Graveside services will be conducted at East Lawn Memorial Park on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be David Barrett, Rodney Barrett, Wayne Simpson, Jeremiah Simpson, Scott Steffey, B.D. Castle, David Hicks and Virgil Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be Kerry Jackson and Bruce Roberts.
