Jackson H. Woodward, 80, 1268 Catawba Street, Kingsport, passed away Sunday morning December 31, 2006 at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation-Hillside.
Jackson was born in Erwin, TN, where he attended Unicoi County High School and participated in various sports. He was a 1950 graduate of the University of Tennessee. Mr. Woodward was an employee of Tennessee Eastman Company, working as an engineer retiring after 35 years of service.
Jackson was a member of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church for more than 40 years. He was active in the Boy Scouts. Mr. Woodward was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Allen Woodward, of the home; daughter, Ann Krause and her husband, Henry, of Mississauga Canada; son, Jackson Henry Woodward, Jr. and wife, Damaris, of the U.S. Virgin Islands; four grandchildren, Brandon Woodward, Michael Woodward, Laura Krause, and Stephen Krause; and one sister, Virginia Foushee, of Clinton, NC.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Daniel Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Weaver Union Church Cemetery in Bristol, TN.
Pallbearers will be Joe Morton, Bill Harkins, Mike Allen, Ben Allen, David Rotenberry, Henry Krause, Mark Blanken, Bud Witcher, and Dr. M. E. Rogers.
