Jacob Colton Wayne Halverson, 16, of Kingsport passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 8, 2015. He was born in Kingsport and was a junior at Sullivan North High School where he was a letterman linebacker on the football team. Jacob was an avid sports fan with some of his favorite teams being UT Football and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Janie and Mike Stallard, and cousin, Braylynn Bishop.

Jacob is survived by his father, Marvin "Todd" Halverson and wife, Denise; mother, Melissa Reed; three brothers, Trevor "Ryan" Reed and wife, Kayla, Ryan Todd Halverson and Justin Reed; maternal grandparents, Ronald Bishop and Reba Bishop; step-grandparents, Wayne Bombailey and wife, Linda; nephew, Xavier Reed; two special aunts, Carol Nelson and Brenda Parker; several other aunts and uncles; very special cousins, Marquetta and Shyane Bishop; and best friend, Mikey DeBriel.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Pastor Mike Stout and Pastor Tim Hodges officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday at 10:30 am at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Brothers and friends will serve as pallbearers.
