Jacqueline Tatchi, 45, of Kingsport, died Monday morning, June 30, 2008, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in D. R. Congo, Africa, and had resided in Kingsport since June 9, 1994. Jacqueline and her family had been political refugees in Zambia four years prior to coming to Kingsport. In January of 2000 she became a U. S. citizen. Jacqueline worked for A & L Industry inside Eastman Chemical Company and also worked at First Presbyterian Church for several years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served lovingly and faithfully in the nursery.
Her husband, Thomas Tatchi, preceded her in death.
Surviving are three daughters, Marthe Byamungu Tatchi, Dallyda Feza-Kiza Tatchi, Sarah Nafisa Tatchi; three sons, Amin Kasanga Tatchi, Thomas Junior Tatchi, Albert Sibula Tatchi; one grandson, Knyston Nehemiah Tipton; her parents, Albert Sibula Mutabazi and Kiza Mutabazi of Kampala, Uganda; and several loving brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Dr. David A. Cagle and Rev. L. Craig Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
