James A. Sanderlin, 68, Johnson City, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016. He was born in Fort Robinson, Alaska. James spent 6 years in the U.S. Army, having served in The Korean War, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He then moved to Newport News, VA, and later moved to Northeast, TN, residing in Fall Branch, Kingsport and Johnson City. He was seen as a gentle soul, who was kind and generous to everyone he knew.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Morelock Sanderlin, father, Mack Donald Sanderlin, and brother, Donald Wayne Sanderlin.
James is survived by his niece, Bridget Sanderlin Pai and nephew, David L. Sanderlin.
There will be an inurnment services Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Post 3/265
