James A. Cornett, age 76, of Kingsport, TN, peacefully entered His Heavenly home on January 8, 2018. Jim was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church, Kingsport. He retired from Philips Electronics after 34 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father, A.L. Cornett and mother, Frances Cornett of Bluff City, TN.
Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce Cornett; daughters, Regina Nutter of Nashville, and Kristi Hommell and husband, John Hommell of Kingsport; grandchildren, Alex and Lauren of Kingsport, and Shelby and Will Nutter of Nashville; sister, Jacquie Wright of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a celebration of life service at Colonial Heights Baptist Church, Kingsport, on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Dr. Greg Burton officiating. A family graveside burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made in memory of Jim to the Smoky Mountain Hospice, 106 Ferrell Ave., Kingsport, TN 37663.
