James Bert Larkins

James Bert Larkins, 83, of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Brookhaven Retirement Center. He was born October 12, 1933 to Noah and Myrtle Larkins. Bert fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. He was an avid farmer and a big-hearted person who loved hunting.

In addition to his parents, Bert was preceded in death by his brothers, David, Robert and Scott; and sister, Ellen Carol Dean.

Bert is survived by two nephews, James Dean of Church Chill, and Daniel Dean of Richmond, VA; three nieces, Barbara Jones, Rebecca Sharrett and Donna Carter, all of Kingsport; brother-in-law, Dennis Dean of Church Hill; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thank you to Brookhaven Retirement Center for their special care of Bert.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 3:30 pm with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating.

Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
