James Ralph Bowles

James R. Bowles, 76, of Kingsport, passed away at his home Friday morning, February 22, 2013. He was born in Lafayette, GA and had resided in Kingsport most of his life. James was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a CPA and CFP and had worked at Mason-Dixon for over 20 years, and then, Hoover and Harrison, and later, Hunter, Smith and Davis, retiring in 1999. James was a member of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ada Ruth Bowles.

James is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Margaret Steadman Bowles of Kingsport; two daughters, Marika Elizabeth Bowles of Kingsport and Rebecca Ann Taylor and husband, Mac of Chesterfield, VA; three sons, James Scott Bowles of Kingsport, William Howard Bowles and wife, Heidi of Charlotte, NC, and John Christopher Bowles of Kingsport; five grandchildren; sister, Ann, Kilbourne and husband, Ron of Manassas, VA; brother, Kenneth Archer Bowles and wife, Christine of Toronto, Canada; and sister-in-law, Martha Ellen Steadman of Kingsport.

A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, February 25th at 11:00 am at Waverly Road Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Daniel S. Clark officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
