JAMES C. (JAY, J.C.) LIGHT
February 19, 1928 - June 22, 2016
On June 22, 2016, James Light, the last of ten children born to Thomas Oliver and Ethel Littleton Light, went home to be with Jesus after a ten year battle with alzheimers.
James served as an MP in the Army Air Force stationed in the Phillipines. He retired from Eastman Kodak after forty one and a half years. He received a plaque from Eastman for twenty six years of perfect attendance. Our running joke was that Eastman was his home away from home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters infant Stella Mae Light, Nora Hickman, Gaynell Mitchell and Juanita Sullivan, brothers Hob, Clarence, Charlie, Jack and Carmel.
Surviving are his wife of forty one years and sole caregiver, with God's help, Julia (Judy) Light, four generations of nieces and nephews, Judy's niece, Heather Puckett who for the last four years has grocery shopped and ran errands and who Jay lovingly called "Honey Baby", also Judy's brother, William Fortner.
May God bless the people of Wellmont Hospice and the nurses and staff on Wilcox Hall 3rd floor Pallitive Care.
Funeral services were private.
Taps
Day is done,
Gone the sun,
From the lake,
From the hill,
From the sky,
All is well,
Safely rest,
God is nigh.
Thank you Jay for your military service.
