James Howard Carroll, 84, Kingsport, passed away quietly at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He bravely fought lung and brain cancer and died as he lived, honorably and with courage.
Howard served his country in both the Air Force and Navy. He was a distinguished builder, and while working side by side with his brother and father, Carroll Brothers constructed many homes in Kingsport. Those that have a home built by him know that his work reflected the quality of the man that he was - quality, honorable and humble.
He took great joy in his family and loved God. We know he is united with his mother and father and most likely very busy as his body has been restored. Howard will be missed, but we know he walks among us and will always be remembered. The blue sky will always remind of his blue eyes.
Howard is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Marbeth Carroll; children, Myra Carroll Watts, James Scott Carroll, Beth Roxanne Carroll; grandchildren, Mandy Watts McCoy, Benjamin Scott Pollard, Anna Beth Pollard; great-grandchildren, Riley, Caleb, Katie and Ava.
Daddy chose cremation and his ashes will be placed according to his specific directions. He will be missed and always carried in our heart. Daddy did not want any services. He would want everyone to enjoy everyday you live, love and respect your family, honor and love your heavenly Father.
