James Randall "Randy" Church

James Randall “Randy” Church passed away at his home on Wednesday December 11, 2024 following a lengthy illness. His devoted wife of 35 years, Laurie Fleming Church, was by his side. 

Randy was born in Kingsport on September 12, 1963 to Betty Bullis Church and Gary Church. In addition to his wife Laurie, Randy is survived by brothers, Phillip and Jeff Church.

Randy graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School and East Tennessee State University. He spent a number of years as a realtor in the Kingsport area and later earned a second degree in Turfgrass Management. He worked on several golf courses including the Pinehurst Centennial (No.8) course.

Randy had a soft heart for animals and provided a loving home for many rescued cats and dogs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Petworks Animal Services of Kingsport or the Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter.

Randy will be laid to rest with a graveside service at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Fall Branch United Methodist Church cemetery. The Reverend David Tully will officiate. Family and friends are welcome.
