James M. Dale, Sr

James M. Dale, Sr., 81, Kingsport, TN, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday February 27, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center from complications following surgery.

Born in Bakersville, NC, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Jim retired after several years of employment in heavy equipment sales. He had been a member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church since 1953, and was a member and past president of the Johnson Memorial Sunday School Class.

His parents, Elma Wilson Dale and James R. Dale preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Mae McCoury Dale, Kingsport, TN; son, James M. Dale, Jr. and wife Karen, Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Dale, James Michael Dale, and Matthew Stephen Dale; brother, Charles P. Dale; Columbia, SC; and brother-in-law, Robert L. McCoury, St. Augustine, FL.

Calling hours are 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church.

Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church with The Rev. Mr.
J. Thomas Phillips officiating.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Larry Franklin, Don Shepherd, John Pierce, Larry Fortner, Alan Dale and H. L. Riggs.

Honorary pallbearers are Jack Riggs, Dr. N.C. Russin, Don Hill, Bill McGuire, Ben Booker, and members of the Johnson Memorial Sunday School Class.
