James E. Manis Jr

James E. Manis, Jr., went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2016. He was born in Sullivan County on February 12, 1956. He was an employee of Kingsport Milling Company. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church. James assisted in collecting and distributing gifts during the Christmas season in his community.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Manis, Sr., and his sister, Madeline Goodwin.

James is survived by his mother, Nancy J. Manis of Kingsport; two sisters, Linda S. Kern of Fort Blackmore, VA, and Leta K. Vargeson of Kingsport, TN; two brothers, Jerry L. Manis and Ronald E. Manis, both of Kingsport, TN; and several nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Kilbourne officiating.

Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
