James Fred Ferguson

James Fred Ferguson, 73, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2009 after a long illness.

Fred was a loving brother, a wonderful uncle to his many nieces and nephews, and a good friend to everyone. Fred accepted Jesus in September 2009. He will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ilean Ferguson November 2009; his father and mother, Clarence and Pearl Ferguson; one sister, Fanny Jane Peters; and two brothers, Kenneth Ferguson and Paul "Cooter" Ferguson.

Survivors include two sisters, Marie Brickey and Geraldine Brickey; a brother, Raymond "Tanker" Ferguson, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Kingsport Fire Department and the Sullivan County Emergency crew for a job well done. A special thanks is extended to Elizabeth, Glenna, Gary and all the staff on the 600 Wing at Holston Manor for their loving care and thanks to special friends Maxine and Pauline and everyone at George Washington Apartments... The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sunrise Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Dykes and Rev. Roy Morelock officiating.

Burial will follow at Depew's Chapel Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
