James ?Hambone? Hamilton, 67, Kingsport, died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at his home.
A lifelong resident of Sullivan County, he was a graduate of Fall Branch High School and served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked with United Telephone Company for 20 years and retired from TeleOptics after five years of employment. Mr. Hamilton attended Double Springs Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ada and Walter Hamilton; a sister, Helen Hamilton; and three brothers, R. K., Louis, and John Hamilton.
Surviving are two sisters, Pauline Blakley, Fall Branch, and Virginia Hamilton of Kingsport; a brother, Dewey Hamilton, Lincoln, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews and great -nieces and great- nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch or any time at the home. Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Mullins officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military rites by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Beryl Moody, Billy Paul Bacon, George Blakley, and Bill Blakley.
