James Hensley, Jr., 86, of Kingsport died early Monday morning, December 1, 2008, at his home.
A son of the late James and Ocie Hensley, he was born in Norton, Virginia and lived in College Corner, Ohio, before coming to Kingsport at the age of 14. James served with the United States Marine Air Corps during World War II and retired from Tennessee Eastman Company following 44 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a member of Masonic Lodge #688, and was a Shriner.
Preceding him in death were three sisters, Sylvia Peters, Dorothy Hensley, Eula Hancock; and a brother, Paul Hensley.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Lena Stata Hensley of Kingsport; and a brother, Dean Hensley also of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Dr. Ron Davis officiating.
Entombment services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
