James S. Hickman

James S. Hickman, 62, of Kingsport, born February 8, 1950 in Sullivan County, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

James was a loving husband and father and he loved to fish. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army First Airborne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Hazel Hickman; brother, Charles Hickman; and sisters, Flora L. Morelock, Nell R. Richards, and Della Mae Gregg.

Surviving include his loving wife, Jerry; three daughters, Amanda P. Hickman of Kingsport, Lori A. Griffith and husband Ron of Piney Flats, and Hazel M. Booher and husband Steve of Meadowview, VA; one stepdaughter, Jacqueline Jones and husband Tim of Kingsport; three stepsons, Jack A. Martin of Kingsport, Mack E. Peters and wife Laura of Chuckey, and Johnny R. Peters of Kingsport; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Hickman and wife Charlene, Lee Hickman, and Hubert Hickman and wife Donna; four sisters, Shirley Gragg, Jeanette Martin, Mercia Chankin, and Joyce Ready and husband Steve; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday with Pastor Mack Greer officiating.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
