James E. Hite, 90, Fall Branch was called home at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Indian Path Medical Center.
James was born in Sullivan County and grew up in Fall Branch. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in the European Theater during World War II. James retired from Eastman Chemical where he worked in Organic Chemicals.
He was a member of Oak Glen Union Church where he had served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bertha Mae Hite; second wife, Vileta McCrary Hite; and one son, Ron Hite.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Winton Hite, Fall Branch; stepsons, Jr. McCrary and Gary McCrary, both of Fall Branch; stepdaughter, Cathy Gilley of Fall Branch; three grandchildren, Eric Hite, Natasha Ellis and David Hite; two great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Ellen Hite of Fall Branch.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with military rites by the American Legion Posts No. 3/265.
