James (Jim) Hosmer

James "Jim" Hosmer, 67, of Kingsport, passed away Friday morning, June 6, 2014. Jim was born Jan.13, 1947 in North Hornell, NY. He moved to Kingsport with his family in July 1980.
Jim worked for Eastman Kodak as a locksmith in Rochester, NY and Kingsport for 39 1/2 years before retiring in 2006. Jim loved to hunt, fish, bowl, and cookout with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother (bro) and friend.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eugene Hosmer.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Helen Mae Hosmer of Kingsport; two sons, James Bert Hosmer of Kingsport and Eugene Allen Johnson of Greensboro, NC; his sister, Carolee Mae Jones of Kingsport; granddaughters, Kenleigh Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Kiersten Hosmer, Kristle Hosmer; grandson, Kyle Hosmer; great-grandson, Mason Hosmer; daughters-in-law Mallen Johnson and Stephanie Hosmer; special friends, Cindy Johnson, Nancy Kindle, Fawn Woods, Thelma Watts; several loving nieces and nephews; and his longtime companion Chip.

The family of Jim will receive friends Wednesday from 1-2pm at Fordtown Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Rev.Bryan Moore officiating. Burial will follow the services at Fordtown Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family at 307 Honeysuckle Dr., Kingsport, Tn 37663.
