James D. Moore

James D. Moore, 75 of the Lovelace Community, went to be with his Lord Friday, February 7, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. A native of the Lovelace Community, he was the son of the late George "Dewey" Moore and Myra "Artie" Fowler Moore.

James served in the U.S. Army and retired from Eastman after 27 years. He joined Lovelace Baptist Church in 1992. In his earlier years, he loved to work in his garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Willard Moore.

James is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Myrtle Moore of the home; sons, David Ryans and Audrey of Church Hill, Larry Ryans and Robin of Bowmantown, and Mike Moore of Afton; four grandchildren, Shane Ryans, Shaunna Steere and husband, Ryan, Chad Allen Ryans and wife, Ashley, and Jonathan Moore; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Lane, Evelyn Penix, Pauline Penix, and Shirley Dykes; one brother, E. B. Moore; many nieces and nephews; and special friend of the family, Lisa Broyles.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Caris Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe Wall and Pastor Allen Brummitt officiating.

The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Lovelace Baptist Church Cemetery, with Military Honors by The American Legion Posts 3/265.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Davis, Charles Davis, Jackie Ryans, James Lyons, Jonathan Moore, and Shane Ryans. Honorary pallbearers will be Merle Parker, Herbert Beach, and Kermit Crawford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lovelace Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 930 Ryan Road, Fall Branch, TN 37656.
