James "Jim" E. Morrison, 76, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at his home.
James was a lifelong resident of Fall Branch and a member of Oak Glen Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army. James retired after more than 30 years of service from Eastman Chemical Company. He enjoyed spending his time farming and hunting.
Preceding him in death are his parents, George and Belle Morrison; four brothers, Haynes Morrison, Gaynes Morrison, Walden Morrison, J.B. Morrison; two infant sons.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joyce Baxter Morrison; daughter, Starlett Morrison Joyner and husband Steve of Fall Branch; sister, Willa Dean Davis of Kingsport; grandchildren, Bradley Joyner and wife Rachel of Jonesborough, Candace Sturgill and husband Josh of Virginia Beach, Andrea Joyner of Fall Branch; special cousin, Wayne Morrison and wife Wanda of Fall Branch; niece, Tammy Brown of Kingsport; nephews, Anthony Hunt and Shannon Hunt; several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will begin at 8:00 pm with Rev. Carl Strickler officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at the Morrison Cemetery Oak Glen Union. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Joyner, Wayne Morrison, Brent Cox, Jack Perkins, Jack Christian, Josh Sturgill, Glen Joyner, Tim Crawford, and Donald Shipley. Honorary pallbearer will be Kermit Crawford.
