James "Jim" Thomas Parsons

James "Jim" T. Parsons, 64, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord following an extended illness on Monday, July 7, 2014. A native of Kingsport, he was the son of the late A.B. and Pearl Parsons. When health allowed he enjoyed bass fishing and cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many aunts, uncles and his beloved dog, Brandy.

Jim is survived by three daughters, Sherry Wright and husband, John of Kingsport, Tina Perry and husband, Lee of Kingsport, and Gina Herron and husband, Michael of Myrtle Beach; 11 grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, Dustin and Evan Wright, Kelly Perry, Mekayla and fiancé, Dustin Townsend, Trevor and Savannah Greene, and Madison, Trinity and Shyloh Herron; 4 great-grandchildren, Jessie Wright, Eli Jennings, Aubree German and Teagan Townsend; 1 great-grandchild on the way; granddog, Hunter; sister, Joyce Mullins and husband, David; and several aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Cody Wright, Trevor Greene, Dustin Wright, Evan Wright, Lee Perry and Chad Jenning.
