James Worley Ramey

James Worley Ramey, Sr. 52, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 19, 2011 while surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Fall Branch and a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church. He blessed all the lives he touched and loved going to church every time the doors opened.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bill and Diona Ramey; maternal grandparents Pearl and Isaac Bowser; father, Tyler Ramey; brothers, Glenn Roberts, Carl Ramey, Richard Ramey; honorary daughter, Debbie "Pooh" Bear; nephews, Kenneth Casey, Thomas Wynn; great mother-in-law, Vessie Sheflette; mother-in-law, Edith James; fathers-in-law, Dorsey Nicholson, Claude James; brother-in-law, Roger James.

Survivors include his one and only true love and soul mate of 33 years, Claudia "Jeanie" Ramey of the home; loving mother, Carrie Ramey; loving grandmother, Helen Ramey; five children, Allen James and wife, Buffy of Sharspburg, MD, Patricia Coulter of Kingsport, Carrie Nunery of Fall Branch, Jeanie and husband Wayne Dilks also of the home, James, Jr., and wife, Amber Ramey of Kingsport; honorary daughter, April Williams of Sharpsburg, MD; eight grandchildren who held a very special place in his heart, Shannon Skahill, Nikki Nunery, Anna Ramey, Lindsey Nunery, Justin Coulter, Breanne Hensley, Jacob Hensley, Noah Hensley; two special nieces, Rebecca Richards, Norma Bear and many other loving family members who referred to him as "Papaw".

He is also survived by sisters, Mary Dykes and Carolyn Guy of Kingsport, Phyllis Roberts of Greeneville, Brenda and husband Alvin Roberts of Greeneville, Shirley Lapez of NC; brothers, Tyler and wife Patty Ramey of Kingsport, Earnest and wife Brenda Ramey of MD, Anthony Ramey, Bruce and wife Linda Ramey, Jeffrey Ramey all of Greeneville.

Other survivors include brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and their spouses: Allen and Robin James, Michael and Debbie James of Martinsburg, WV, Norma Jean and Charles Minters of Germantown, MD, Linda Delph of Point of Rocks, MD, Diane and Alvie Price of Damascus, MD, Carolyn and Jerry Edge of White Oak, NC.

He also leaves behind several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends anytime at the home of the daughter, Carrie Nunery and from 6-8 pm Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Cornerstone Fellowship Church. The service will begin at 8 pm with Pastor Harold Morelock, Rev. Dave Morelock, Rev. Dusty Wallen, Rev. Jacob Crawford officiating. Music will be provided by members of the congregation.

Graveside services will be conducted on 11 am on Thursday at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Moore, Robert Drum, Lewis King, Timmy Hicks, Terry Dilks, James Ramey, Jr., and Alvin Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are Mary and Ike Robinette, Tammy Miller, Wayne Dilks, Josh Rhymer and members of Cornerstone Fellowship Church.
