James H. Jim Reynolds, 67, Kingsport, completed his earthly list and went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning January 28, 2007.
Born in Wise County, VA, he lived in Mount Carmel, graduating with Church Hill High School?s Class of ?57; then moved to Kingsport. Jim was an employee of T.E.C. until retiring in 1995; after 30 years of dedicated service.
Mr. Reynolds served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church, where he served in various capacities, including chairman for the kitchen renovation committee. Jim had also been involved in the Boy Scouts for a number of years.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Hubert and Lura Shook Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Griffith Reynolds; two daughters, Melissa Weber and husband, Eric, of Knoxville, TN, and Julie Holbrook and husband, Matthew, of Clover, SC; one son, Michael Reynolds and wife, Marisa, of Columbia, SC; seven grandchildren, Samantha and Christopher Reynolds, Seth and Sage Weber, and Jackson, Nolan, and Preston Holbrook; one sister, Cathy Batlle and husband, Ray, of Kingsport; one niece and four nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Vermont United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 8 p.m. at the church with Pastor Stephen Burkhart officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 10:45 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Chad Thompson, David Thompson, Don Thompson, Lowell Thompson, Kenny Curry, Eric Weber, Matt Holbrook, and Ray Batlle. Honorary pallbearers will be A. C. Fuller, Norman Browder, and Jack Stidham.
