James Edward Smith
James Edward Smith, 66, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord April 13th, 2010. Born in Virginia, James had lived most of his life in Kingsport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Verna Smith; a brother, Randy Smith; and a great-grandson, Christopher Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Ruby Smith; his children, Michael, Trina, Lori, and Charlie Smith, and Rita Harville all of Kingsport; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lester, Donnie, Doug, and Johnny Smith all of Kingsport, and Kenneth Smith of Ohio; sisters, Patsy Franklin of Gate City, VA, Kathy Dishner of Surgoinsville, Linda Daughtery of Kingsport, and Anne of Hiltons, VA; several nieces and nephews; and special brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Angie Sisk.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Graveside services will be Friday, April 16th at 2:30 pm at Chestnut Flats Cemetery.
