James C. Stone, 57, Kingsport, died Friday afternoon April 16, 2010 after an apparent heart attack.
Born in Parkersburg, WV, he had resided in Kingsport since 1973. Jim served in the U.S. Army and had attended East Tennessee State University. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was a frequent visitor to Disney World. Jim loved his family and animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rocky and Ann Stone; and his mother-and-father-in-law, Una and Kennett Wade.
Surviving are his wife, Becky Stone, of the home; daughter, Vicki Legg and husband, Steve, Blountville; beloved rescued keeshond's, Wolfe, Ariel, Silver, Shadow, and Frani; sisters, Carol Stone of Nashville and Kathryn Roach of OH; brothers, Thomas Stone of Nashville, John Stone of Nashville, Robert Stone of Nashville, Paul Stone of Kingsport, Ricky Stone of OH, and Mark Stone of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. J.W. Depew officiating.
Burial will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 3/265.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
