James Harvey Sykes, 60, Kingsport, passed away Saturday April 28, 2007.
He was a life-long resident of Kingsport and was a member of the Peacemakers. Butch loved people and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Mary Silva Sykes.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Sykes, of the home; daughter, Laura Hite and husband, Ronnie, Kingsport; two step-children, Michael Williams and wife, Anna, Kingsport, and Carol Brown and husband, Terry, Rogersville; two grandchildren, Montana and Marina Hite; and three step-grandchildren, Gideon, Harlan, and Jasper Williams.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Charlene Galvin officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by Bristol VFW Honor Guard.
Peacemakers Motorcycle Club will serve as pallbearers.
