.Jamie L. Collier passed away at her home on February 7, 2016. Jamie was born February 2, 1965 in Kinston, NC to Jean Parris Avery and the late James C. Avery. After living in Kansas City, MO and Orlando, FL. Jamie moved to Tennessee in 1999 with her husband Craig Collier, living first in Rogersville before moving to Kingsport in 2004.
Jamie had worked at Electrolux in Bristol, VA and ETSU in Johnson City, TN and was currently a homemaker. She enjoyed family vacations at the beach and traveling with Craig on motorcycle trips. Jamie will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister and a good friend. Jamie was a member of Christ fellowship Church .Jamie was looking forward to the birth of her first grandchild, Grayson Barnes in May.
In addition to her husband, Jamie is survived by her children, Garason Barnes and girlfriend, Donna Simerly of Johnson City, TN, Hannah Collier and Laci Collier of the home. Surviving family members include her mother, Jean Parris Avery of Kinston, NC; brother, Stephen Avery of Walton, KY; sisters, Terri Tysinger of Kinston, NC, Patricia Avery of Rocky Point, NC, Debi Avery of Independence, MO, and Tiffany LeHotta of Dry Ridge, KY; step-mother, Barbara Avery of Dry Ridge, KY; brother and sister-in-law, Onza and Rozhon Collier of Kingsport, TN; and 14 nieces and nephews. Jamie's special friends included Chere Gallup of Orlando, FL, Gina Osborne of Johnson City, TN, and Fran Gaby of Johnson City, TN.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The memorial service will follow at 8:00 pm with Dr. W. Joe Mason, Jr. officiating.
