Jane Barnette

Jane Barnette, 87, of Mt. Carmel, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at The Wexford House. Born in southwest Virginia, she had lived in Hawkins County most of her life. She attended Way of Life Baptist Church until her health prevented her. Jane enjoyed gardening and canning.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Lowell Barnette; and two sons, Kenneth Kendrick and Tony Kendrick.

Jane is survived by her son, Curtis Mull; stepsons, Wayne, Michael and David Barnette; several grandchildren; two sisters, Vivian Cox and Betty Thacker; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 pm on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Johnny Gibson and Rev. Roy Leedy officiating. Music will be provided by the Way of Life singers.

The graveside service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Mt. Mitchell Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Carmel. Those planning to attend the graveside service are asked to arrive at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
