Janet A. Bradshaw, 86, of Kingsport, TN, flew away to be in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, after striving with many extended health issues. Born in Mabe, VA, Janet moved to Kingsport as a young girl. She grew up to be a devoted wife and mother. Perhaps the role she cherished the most was that of grandmother to Luke, IJ, and Jaylee. She loved gospel music and sang in many churches and at home. Janet was a former member and Sunday school teacher at West View Primitive Baptist Church. Additionally, she served alongside her husband as treasurer and Sunday school teacher at Liberty Chapel Primitive Baptist Church for a number of years. They also attended Willow Chapel Primitive Baptist Church for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Bradshaw; brothers, Paul Hill and William “Billy” Hill; nieces, Joni Hill and Pamela Lang; and brother-in-law, Robert Smith.
Janet is survived by her son, Joel Mark Bradshaw and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Luke, IJ, and Jaylee; brothers, John E. Hill and wife Karen, James L. Hill and wife Linda; sister, Mary Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Per Janet’s request, there will be no funeral service, but the family will receive family and friends at the home of her son from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 110 Chandler Circle, Church Hill, TN 37642.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the American Diabetes Association.
