Janet Lavinder Bragg

Janet Lavinder Bragg, 75, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, June 16, 2015, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Kingsport, where she lived until moving to Greeneville to be with her daughter. Janet was an employee of Eastman prior to working at WKPT as a secretary until retiring due to health reasons. She was a faithful member of Brittontown Church. Janet was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in sharing the joy of life with her children and especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew the joy of her love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, I.J. Bragg in 2003.

Janet is survived by her son, Jason Bragg and wife, Susie of Kingsport; daughter, Jennifer Messer and husband, David of Greeneville, TN; four grandchildren, Brandon Bragg, Tyler Bragg, I.J. Messer and Julianne Messer; sister, June Umbarger of Franklin, TN; brother, Jack Lavinder and wife, Fern of St. Simons Island, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the loving care provided to Janet by the staff at Wexford House and Dr. Marta Wayt.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Roger Dykes officiating.
