Janet Rose Fenyves, 45 years of age, died peacefully and without pain while surrounded by family and caring nurses at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol on Christmas Eve, after a long struggle with a progressive neurological condition.
Janet was born in Greenville, SC. After finishing high school in Charlotte, NC, she completed her undergraduate and nursing degree at the University of Cincinnati. She moved to the Kingsport area in 2000 and helped her parents, Bob and Sharon Fenyves, manage the Warrior State Park Marina. She could often be seen walking around Duck Island with her Service Dog. Janet was also an avid antique and Disney novelty collector. She ferociously loved her family and her dogs. Despite her constant battle with her neurological condition, requiring dozens of surgeries, Janet's smile could illuminate the room.
Janet is survived by her parents, Robert and Sharon Fenyves of Kingsport; a sister, Jacque Koegel of Cincinnati; a brother, Jeff and wife Becky Fenyves of Kingsport; as well as nephew/niece, Rob Koegel and Danielle Koegel of Cincinnati; and nephews, Ryan, Adam, and Evan Fenyves of Kingsport; and special aunts/uncles and other family.
Receiving of friends by the family will be held at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 3rd at Noon, followed by a private service at 2:00 p.m.
The family feels incredible gratitude to all of Janet's health care professionals, including Dr. Ken Smith and Pulmonary Associates, as well as numerous nurses, therapists, and others who helped Janet through her difficult journey. And they feel a special gratitude to Dr. Sue Prill and the staff at Wellmont Hospice House, who provided loving care in her last days.
Janet had specifically requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a Service Dog Organization, such as Canine Companions for Independence @ http://www.cci.org/site/c.cdKGIRNqEmG/b.3978475/k.BED8/Home.htm or to Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, TN 37620.
