Janice Greene Smith

Janice Greene Smith, 67, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord, Tuesday December 13, 2011. She was a native of Kingsport, graduated from Sullivan High School and received her B.S. in education from ETSU. She taught in Wise County, VA, Gate City, VA and retired from the Sullivan County School District, teaching at Holston Middle School. Janice was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewayne Grant Smith.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Wendy Smith Edwards and husband, Evan; sons, Joel Smith and wife, Jennifer and Derrick Smith; grandchildren, Kelsey Smith Posthuma and husband Derek, Jonathan Smith, Grant Smith, Jake Smith, Elijah Edwards, Phoebe Grace Edwards and Josiah Edwards; great-grandson, Rylan Posthuma; parents, Agnes and Charles Greene, Sr.; brother, Jim Greene; nephews, Aaron and Andy Greene; uncle, Weldon Duncan; several cousins and special friend, Ginny Snow.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Indian Springs Baptist Church, Hill Road Campus. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Roc Collins officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
