Janie "GG" Snapp

Janie Jones Snapp, 77, of Kingsport, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 29, 2020.  She attended Central Baptist Church until her health prevented it.  Janie, known as “GG” to her family, was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved life and to travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Margie Evans; her loving husband, Rev. James Ellis Snapp; 1 sister; and 3 brothers.

She is survived by 5 daughters, Peggy Britt, Tammy Franklin Flowers and husband, James, Teresa Snapp Miller and husband, Anthony, Shirley Snapp and Mary Elizabeth Snapp; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; multiple great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her granddaughter, Bay, son, in-law, Bob, caregiver, Laura Smith, nurse, Nikki, Ballas Hospice, Pastor David Salley and members of Gravely Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Gravelly Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 with Pastor David Salley officiating. 

The graveside service will be held at on Wednesday at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
