Jacqueline Katherine Harwood Hamly passed from this earth, taking the hand of her precious Lord and Savior, on Friday, September 7, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Jackie, the daughter of the late Jesse N. and Flora H. Harwood, had resided in Kingsport for the last 47 years with her husband and family.
Jackie had worked in the public for over 40 years, working for the Rose Company for more than 27 years and later retiring in 2004 from Burlington Coat Factory. Outside of her intense love of family, one of Jackie?s greatest loves was cooking, of which she put a great deal of love and pride in doing so for her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Diana Ward Hamly.
Jackie is survived by her husband, of 57 years, Earl L. Hamly, Sr., a daughter, Vicki H. Hill and husband Bobby; three sons, Michael S. Hamly and wife Alethea, Lee Hamly and wife Pam, and Earl L. Chuck Hamly, Jr.
She is also survived by the pride and joy of her life, her grandchildren, Jessica Jones and husband Ben, Jana Pendleton and husband Mark, Jennifer Gilbertson and husband Kari, Crystal Krajack and husband Jeremy, Chase Hamly, and Tessa Hamly; as well as her great-grandchildren, Ashton Gilbertson, Brianna Jones, Marleigh and Max Pendleton, and Seth Krajack. Also surviving are her brother, James H. Harwood and wife Helen of Knoxville, TN; her sister, Janet H. Bell and husband Jon Earl of Atlanta, GA; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas M. Bier officiating.
Inurnment will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Gardens in Johnson City.
