Jason Glen Kilgore, 29, of Gate City, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Wellmont HolstonValley Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born in Kingsport, but had lived all his life in Scott County, Virginia. A graduate of Gate City High School, he played football as an all-state center. Jason attended Virginia Tech and was a member of The Delta Chi Fraternity. He coached little league football for five years and was the offensive line coach at Twin Springs High School for the past three years. Jason worked at Eastman in Materials Handling of the Acid Division.
Football was his passion, but he also enjoyed golf, fishing, and four-wheeling. As much as he loved football, nothing could compare to his love for his family.
His maternal grandfather, G. B. ?Barney? Sallee, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Davis Kilgore; one daughter, Lyndsey Hagood; one son Logan Hagood; his father and mother, Ray and Patricia Kilgore, of the Yuma community; a brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Bobbie Kilgore, Yuma, VA; one nephew, Ethan Cash Kilgore; maternal grandmother, Dorethea Sallee, Kingsport; paternal grandparents, Giles and Gladys Kilgore; Kingsport; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Wayne Davis, Mt. Carmel; his best friend, Jim Fitzpatrick; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Will Shewey officiating.
