Jean Balmer

Jean M. Balmer, 87, Kingsport, TN, passed away Friday, August 31, 2007, at home with her family by her side.

Her parents, Andy and Laura Monday, sisters, Mavis Monday and Lila Rich preceded her in death.

She was a loving and devoted wife of sixty-one years to Thomas A. Balmer, Kingsport, TN; wonderful and loving mother to three children, Dr. Thomas A. Balmer, Charlottesville, VA, Tracy Welsh and husband Sam, Johnson City, TN; Cindy Jewett and husband John, Kingsport, TN; along with her grandchildren, Tommy Balmer, Katie Balmer, Lila Archer and husband Shannon, Metha Welsh and Sunny Posey; six great-grandchildren, Brandon and Brooke Lynn Archer, Matthew and Drew Posey, and Adrian and Alex Wesh; one brother, Bill Monday, Baton Rouge, LA; special friends and caregivers, Juanita Crawford and Tammara Baker.

Calling hours are 3-4:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport

Services will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Robert Russell officiating.

She will be laid to rest in Beaumont, TX along side the Balmer family.
