Jean Marie Stevens Ford, 71, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, February 16, 2007 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Jean was born and raised in Bristol, TN. She was a 1954 graduate of Sullivan High School and her most recent employment was for Dr. Randall Pierson in Kingsport.
She was a Past Matron of Border City Chapter #162 Order of The Eastern Star in Bristol, TN. She was also a Grand Representative from Tennessee to Saskatchewan, Canada for two years, Grand Instructor of the Grand Chapter of Tennessee for three years and had been active in her own chapter and has held several offices for the last forty-five years.
She was an active member of Reynolds Memorial Church in Bristol, VA.
Her husband D. Edsel Ford, parents, Charles M. and Lessie Pearle Stevens, sisters, Mozelle Corum and Genevieve McClellan, brothers, Maurice Stevens and Harold Stevens, mother and father-in-law, Hobert and Mary Lou Ford preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Donna Marie Shelton and husband Jerry, Kingsport, TN; Judy Lynn Moody and husband Bill, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Chris Moody and wife Leigh, and Heather Marie Shelton, Kingsport, TN; great-grandchildren, Edward and Chloe Moody, Kingsport, TN; brother, Herschel Stevens and wife Frances, Bristol, VA; brother-in-law, Denver Ford and wife Geraldine, Gray, TN. She was also godmother to niece, Fran Stevens DeMonico; Kari Harris, San Dimas CA; PFC Casey Harris South Korea, and John Sproles, Blountville, TN; several special nieces and nephews and a host of special longtime friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the employees of Bristol Power Company, Volunteer Parkway, the ER Staff, I.C.U. Staff and the Pallatine Nursing Staff at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Calling hours are 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Richie Hayes officiating.
Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Dewey Barnett, Bobby Sells, Alan Ford, Mike McClellan, Larry Corum, Brint McClellan, Bruce Stevens, and Mike Rudd.
