Jean Floye Porter
Jean F. Porter, 78, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 9, 2008, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was a very dedicated and loving mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy.
Jean is survived by her children - daughters, Mary Gail Ramey and husband Don of Lebanon, VA and Lydia Hilliard and husband Ken of Johnson City, TN; sons, Dwight Porter and wife Patsy of Gray, TN, David Porter and wife Susie of Pennington Gap, VA, and Richard Porter and wife Dawn of Kingsport, TN; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Graveside services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Wanda Grills, 1217 Radcliffe Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37664.
