Jean Smith

Jean H. Smith, 89, of Kingsport died on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Holston Manor after a brief illness.  Jean was born in Sullivan County TN.  She was a graduate of Holston High School, class of 1948. She resided in Kingsport then Arlington Heights, IL and Nashville TN before returning back to Kingsport in 1973. Jean was an employee of New York Carpet World before retiring in 1995.  She was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church.  Enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, reading and working with flowers.

Preceded in death by her parents, Luster Hamilton and Andrell Hawk Hamilton; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Smith; son, Patrick Gene Smith; brother, G.W. Hamilton.

Jean is survived by her son, Richard Allen Smith; granddaughter, Zoe Jean Smith; nephew, Jerry Hamilton and wife Teresa; sister-in-law Betty Hamilton; several cousins; special caregiver Kristine Thacker.

Special thank you to the staff at Holston Manor, especially CNA Dora for their love and support.

A family graveside services will be conducted at Gray Cemetery.
