Jeannette Blackburn Tomlinson, 82, went to her heavenly home, Wednesday, January 7, 2009, after an extended illness.
She previously resided in Gate City, Virginia, and had lived in the Colonial Heights Community of Kingsport for 35 years.
Jeannette loved and was devoted to all her family and friends. Before her illness she was an active member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church and the Upper Room Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Carl Tomlinson; a son, Phillip Tomlinson; and a sister, Norma Jean Odum.
Surviving are a son, David Tomlinson and spouse Maravic of Dubai U.A.E; a daughter, Angela Bellamy and spouse Mike of Kingsport; a daughter, Ginger Medeiros and spouse Raymond of Merritt Island, Florida; a son, Jim Tomlinson and spouse Maria of Miami, Florida; grandchildren, Michelle, Nicole, Ryan, Richard, Justin, Sydney, Danyule, Jacob, C. J., and Nina; great-grandchildren, Meredith, Mason, and Melanie; and brothers and sisters, Tom Blackburn, Barbara Richardson, Yvonne Carter all of Kingsport, Christine Jones and Keith Blackburn of Gate City, Oran "Bird" Blackburn and Ruth Ann Fugate of Hiltons, Virginia, Frank Blackburn of Williston, South Carolina, Joe Blackburn of Maryville, TN, and Roberta Stewart of Lutz, Florida.
The family will receive friends any time at the home of the daughter, Angela Bellamy and from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Tom Seay officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
